Harvest of Empire

An excellent look at our "hidden" history and it's impact
As an American who traveled to El Salvador, Nicaragua and Colombia so I could return home to expose the government death squad activities to my fellow citizens, I found this a very powerful look at this hidden history. It is critical to understanding our Latin immigrants to understand the "why" and "where" of this history, their history, our history. This documentary is a powerful and humane exploration of the "roots" of much of this immigration and of the "soul" of our nation.

A lot of people need to see this
I think that if more people were to see this movie then there would be a lot more understanding of why there are so many latino/a immigrants in the US and our immigration policies would take a turn for the better. Everything here is a matter of public record, but most people have not seen it all gathered in one place in a cogent narrative. This movie delivers in that respect. It's also gripping enough that it goes by fast.

I prefered a DVD. I could not show the documentary to my students because of this.
I preferred a DVD. I could not show the documentary to my students as a result. I would like a DVD please. It is a good documentary.
